In the woods and fields surrounding the hermitage, birds can regularly be heard singing, cawing and chirping.
However, they seem to be unusually skittish about making appearances, typically keeping hidden high in the treetops or deep in the brush. I have always wondered why in that I have never seen any obvious predators in the area.
But, then again, I’m not a bird and would not know all of the rules that govern their lives – the threats or promises, fears or delights. Who am I to judge if they are reluctant to share their images?
However, this little one was more bold and allowed me the joy of receiving and now sharing his image.
(I wanted to record their hymns of praise – but I forgot to bring my cell phone charger with me and I had no other recording device.)
